What was your Boom job so I can keep an eye out for it?
I finished my Boom job so now I’ve just got Slipshine to work on, and will be sending people scans of commissions and sketch cards within the next few days! I’m also gonna be working on Love Me Nice pages with that time slot opened and will be live streaming pages today and quite a few days. Getting stuff done! Woo!
Aww, well luckily I actually HAVE had really lovely exchanges with printers I plan to work with for other projects, so future stuff shouldn’t be a problem. I just kinda got shafted where TT is concerned because of one unprofessional printer putting me in a position where my options are super limited :/ BAH to them!
After the drama of trying to get Titty Time printed… it’d have to be SFW. My heart couldn’t take more drama of that ilk this year. Whether it’d be in color or not would depend on how many submissions it’d take and how big it’d be. A lot to think about and a lot of time before I can even start.
No it would NOT be all my art. I mean I’m a narcissist so I’d probably do the cover and one illustration, but the idea would be a really quality showcase of people and art, based on curated submissions. Stories couldn’t be long, like max out at 2 pages. It would take illustration and photos (though photos will be tricky cuz of rights and not wanting to personally offend those not accepted). Its really supposed to be more of an art book, or coffee table book in terms of style and format, except a zine. Showcasing art and people of varying body types with emphasis on rad unique fashion and really awesome hair. And I’d probably follow the trend of printing it and offering it asa pay-what-you-want PDF and just treat that like a bonus to split among artist, since putting a PDF up for sale is pretty no-effort on my part.
I’d basically get the same cut (from print and pdf) as all the artists. The idea is to raise min. funds for print cost and everything else above that would get split, so I might kickstart that for transparency of profits.
It would be open to contributions/submissions, curated. The idea would be that all contributers would get a cut after print-costs (which is why I might kickstart it to make profits more transparent, I like transparency). It would accept photos and illustrations/comics. Photos are trickier cuz I’d need express consent by photographer and subject, but they’re totally open.
Curation wouldn’t just be for less than quality art, some really good art might be rejected if it simply doesn’t meet the tone or spirit of the book.
There’s a lot of time before I’d be able to touch this project, but just throwin this up to answer questions.
HAhaa I’m not sure if I was clear but there’d be an emphasis on illustrations, not necessarily photos, but I think both would be acceptable. I’m still thinking about format and stuff.i don’t know if my hair would be cool enough for this but i would try to contribute!!! i want to do pastel but i don’t know if anyone will let me bleach all my hair and dye it a color :C
I have one! But it’s only for collecting references and inspirations: http://littlefroggies-collection.tumblr.com/
You mean Titty Time? The kickstarter already came and went! I just got screwed over by my printer at the last and worst possible minute and am trying to find another one with a comparable quote.
If things go poorly I might do a second preorder to make up difference but I REALLY don’t want to, I already have 450+ preorders to fill and that’s gonna be a task.
And I don’t think Lulu (or createspace) really curate or care about the content so, as far as POD.
